Lando Norris Tops Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice
The British driver has outscored his teammate at all of the last five race weekends.
Lando Norris just pipped team-mate and title rival the Australian for the quickest lap in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the points lead from Piastri by just one point after his victory in Mexico City recently, outpaced the Australian by 0.023 seconds.
Before then, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before sprint qualifying due at 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the other racer in the points battle, trailing with a 36-point deficit Norris, ended up in P17 as his team ran a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to crash, if briefly, when he lost control at the fourth corner early in the session.
Tsunoda lost control over the exit kerbs before sliding over the gravel trap, and was lucky to escape with just a slight brush of the barrier.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton also lost it, at the very end of the session, turning around through the fast downhill Mergulho corner before the final corner on to the start-finish straight.
Hamilton wrapped up in P19, just behind teammate the Monegasque driver.
Norris and Piastri were significantly quicker of the remaining drivers, with the German's Sauber in third, 0.619secs off the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with the Sauber of Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of George Russell and Alpine's Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
